NGF EUROPE
The NGF EUROPE Factory in St.Helens manufactures more fibreglass cord than any other facility in the world. Each year NGF EUROPE produces enough cord to stretch to the moon and back twice, or around the Earth forty times.
A 1mm diameter cord contains around a quarter of a million fibres, each of which is around one tenth of the diameter of a human hair. Each cord is made from glass marbles and rubber. Weight for weight this material is stronger than steel.
